Workplace Safety and Health Specialist

A full-time position is available in a metropolitan area.

This business manufactures building products for residential and commercial markets.

The Workplace Safety and Health Specialist will ensure the business complies with occupational health and safety regulations, working closely with all departments to promote a safe working culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company policies for safe working conditions.
  • Provide advice on workplace safety and health regulations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to analyze causes and recommend remedial action.
  • Facilitate training sessions to raise awareness of safe working practices.
  • Review current systems to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Liaise with management to develop training programs.
  • Undertake audits and performance improvement reviews.
  • Mentor staff in understanding compliance requirements.
  • Organize risk assessments and develop job safety analyses and standard operating procedures.
  • Presentation of workplace safety and health statistics at key meetings.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a workplace safety and health role.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
  • Sound understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory framework.
  • Ability to partner with stakeholders to ensure workplace safety and health compliance.
