About this role:

Job Description

We are seeking qualified Mechanical Fitters to perform planned, unplanned and breakdown maintenance activities within our surface maintenance team. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective work every day.

You will report to the Mechanical Supervisor - Surface Fixed Plant and work closely with operations personnel to ensure all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and remedied promptly.

  • Comply to standards and procedures designed to enable safe and effective work every day.
  • Provide technical expertise to facilitate planned, unplanned and breakdown maintenance and preventative shut down maintenance.
  • Develop close working relationships with operations personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and remedied promptly.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on various equipment including conveyors, grinding mills, feeders, pumps, bore fields and filter press.

  1. To provide skilled mechanical maintenance services to meet operational requirements.
  2. To develop and implement solutions to reduce downtime and improve plant efficiency.

About You
  • You must hold an Australian recognised Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter) qualification.
  • You must have experience working in an operational maintenance environment, preferably in a copper concentrator environment.
  • You must possess excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively across multiple levels and functions.
