We are seeking a highly skilled Manager, Legislation and Strategy to lead and manage a small, dynamic team responsible for implementing legal advice and direction.

This role is crucial in ensuring the department's strategic goals are met in compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

As the Manager, you will provide expert leadership, direction, and advice to support the regulatory framework surrounding school attendance across the state.

">

Leading statutory responses, building, and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and various divisions such as Student Support Services and Legal Services.

">

Your leadership will ensure that all stakeholders are well-supported and that processes are reviewed and optimized for compliance and effectiveness.

">

This includes improving attendance, particularly for children and students with functional needs, Aboriginal students, and children in care.

">

The Education and Children's Services Act 2019 provides that every child has a right to an education.

">

In South Australia, there is a legal requirement that children aged between 6 years of age and 16 years of age are enrolled in a school.

You will need to have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification">
  • Desirable: A Legal qualification, legal practice experience or investigation experience">
  • Desirable: Experience within the education sector or child protection is highly regarded">
