This is a key position within the Maxxia Pty Ltd organization, supporting the Senior Credit Manager in the performance of the Group credit risk management function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the credit risk related to financing operating fleets, equipment lines, and single asset credits for customers, as well as administering the credit approval process and ongoing financial monitoring of the customer.
The role reports to the Senior Credit Manager regarding the assessment of the credit risk associated with customer accounts, AML compliance, and working collaboratively with the commercial teams.
The Credit Risk Analyst will contribute to Credit Policy development, support the data and reporting requirements for MMS securitisation programs, and assist with reporting to the Executive Credit Committee and the Board.
Key Responsibilities- Policy and Procedure
- Assist the Senior Credit Manager in the planning, development, and execution of credit risk policies and procedures across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support the Senior Credit Manager in ongoing credit policy reviews, tracking results of risk management strategies, and recommending policy changes based on analysis of profitability, risk, and operational impact.
- Interpret corporate policy on the provision of credit and advise customers and/or sales/account management staff as appropriate.
- Support the Senior Credit Manager in maintaining contemporary legislative knowledge related to credit activities in MMS jurisdictions (AML/CTF, PPSR, Debt collection and recovery obligations, SME legislative compliance) and ensure policies and processes are compliant in a timely manner.
- Risk Assessment
- Within agreed KPI's: investigate credit worthiness of potential and existing customers, including analysing customer key strategic and business risks and how well these are managed, prior to entering into or increasing business arrangements and make appropriate recommendations.
- Assess KYC/AML, credit data, and compliance with any debt covenants, financial statements for completeness and accuracy and early warning signs to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit and propose any potential mitigants.
- Support the sales teams where appropriate in liaising with existing and potential customers, (especially for those on Credit Watch), to investigate credit matters and to foster good credit relationships between the customer and the company.
- Ensure the Group's security interests are protected through checking effective registration with PPSR, all collateral documents are in order and current, and all security remains in force.
- Maintain cumulative loss registers and support all lender due diligence processes, operational reviews, and portfolio risk of loss assessments as well as supporting the Finance team with credit-related requirements (credit loss provisioning, etc.).
- Support the Senior Credit Manager with industry risk assessments and presentations for the MMS Executive Credit Committee and Board.
- Approvals
- Contribute as a key stakeholder/user to the provision of user requirements for the development of the Group's Credit Risk management applications.
- Reporting
- Support the Credit Risk Officer in the preparation of monthly management reporting for the Executive Credit Committee and Board.
- Through the Credit Risk Manager, ensure compliance with credit approval conditions, account activation and establishment, and maintenance of credit limits.
- Proactively drive processing and reporting efficiency in all credit risk management functions.
- Providing technical advice, guidance, support, and mentoring for dependent stakeholders.
- Consulting and collaborating with key stakeholders to help solve complex problems ensuring solutions are viable and consistent.

- Strong communication and presentation skills as well as high-quality attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment.
Desirable
- 3 years' experience working in a credit risk analyst role in a financial institution.
- Experience in developing and implementing credit scorecards for corporate and individuals, together with associated analysis of effectiveness of such scorecards.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Fleet leasing experience.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in business/commerce or equivalent.
- Preferably undertaking or completed post-graduate study covering financial statement analysis & reporting.
