Job Description:

Women's Fashion Buyer

The Womenswear Buyer is responsible for selecting, purchasing, and delivering a range strategy for assigned portfolio. This involves working with the Merchandise Leadership Team to ensure maximum profitability and brand positioning.

This role requires a consumer-focused mindset with a commercial approach to building an assortment strategy that inspires growth and new customer acquisition. Strong relationships will be built with internal teams and suppliers to achieve desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategic direction for full-year commercial and portfolio planning in consultation with Merchandise Leadership Team.
  • Review portfolio on regular cycles to meet financial targets, highlight risks, and conduct monthly forecast reviews.
  • Conduct trend research and monitor brand health to ensure relevance for the target market.
  • Build seasonal introduction, training, and VM directives to deliver results to the retail team.
  • Design a customer-centric range architecture.
  • Identify sales trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Ensure assortment depth and size curves are relevant and in line with sales trends.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the target market through robust market research.
  • Negotiate best commercial outcomes, including intake margin, markdown assistance, and rebates.
  • Liaise and collaborate with Brand Partners and Marketing to ensure successful launches and campaign executions.
  • Source new and relevant brands to enable category growth.
  • Review sales at store and brand level, highlighting opportunities.
  • Deliver weekly in-depth reviews of portfolio performance and suggested actions during Trade Meetings.
  • Regularly review forward orders and current inventory holdings, highlighting opportunities and risks.
  • Work with Marketing & Retail Teams to promote key items in campaigns.
