About the Role

Metro is seeking a skilled Track Inspector to join our Infrastructure team in the North West region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, maintenance, and inspection of our rail tracks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of track sections to identify defects and prioritize faults for remediation.
  • Collaborate with Skilled Operatives to rectify incidents and faults, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to services.
  • Prepare technical reports and incident reports to document the outcome of works performed.
  • Certify track works completed by other parties, ensuring compliance with Metro's policies and procedures.
  • Lead daily pre and post-work meetings, promoting a culture of safety and adherence to Metro's values.
Requirements
  • Cert II in Rail Infrastructure (Track Work) and Cert III in Rail Infrastructure (Track Work) are mandatory.
  • Competency in Track Inspection is essential.
  • A current Victorian driver's license is required.
  • Qualified Safeworking Track Force Protection Co-ordinator 3.1 and First Aid Certified Level 2 are preferred.
  • Experience as a Track Way Maintainer with track maintenance or renewal experience is highly valued.
