Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Coordinator to provide crucial support in the form of crisis interventions to families experiencing high risk family and domestic violence. This role requires an individual who can work collaboratively with police and child protection officers to assess situations and provide timely interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess situations and provide crisis interventions to families experiencing high risk family and domestic violence.
  2. Collaborate with police and child protection officers to develop effective intervention strategies.
  3. Meet the following criteria:
  • Hold relevant qualifications in a related discipline at degree, diploma, or certificate level, or have equivalent work or lived experience.
  • Demonstrate personal goal planning skills that contribute to achieving client goals in line with the Model of Care.
  • Utilize reflective practice and possess highly developed report writing skills using analytical reasoning.
  • Be able to support, mentor, and work alongside supporting staff members.
  • Have advanced computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to use a client reporting system.
  • Engage and maintain professional relationships with clients, and their wider formal and informal supports, with multiple needs and challenges.
  • Demonstrate understanding of complex issues facing people who experience chaotic life circumstances such as homelessness, AOD use, family/domestic violence, and mental health issues.
  • Exhibit willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the organization's vision, mission, core values, and guiding principles.
  • Display knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender, and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
