Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Western Sydney Local Health District. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide person-centred recovery-oriented mental health services to individuals with chronic persistent mental illness and complex psychosocial needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health triage and comprehensive assessments
  • Deliver psychological and family interventions as part of multidisciplinary teams
  • Coordinate ongoing care and discharge planning in collaboration with various stakeholders
  • Collaborate with staff, consumers, and external agencies to enhance participation in mental health treatment and recovery
  • Contribute to quality improvement and service delivery projects within WSLHD and non-government organisations
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist or Social Worker
  • Demonstrated full registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist OR for Social Workers, eligibility to be a member of the AASW
  • Demonstrated skills in mental health and discipline-specific assessments and interventions and experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to work within experience working in a team and/or knowledge of the principles that guide service delivery within this model of practice
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and good interpersonal skills
  • Computer competence and literacy including the use of database systems
  • Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia
