Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide advanced, autonomous, and collaborative care to consumers in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and crisis interventions
  • Prescribe and implement therapeutic interventions, including medications and non-pharmacological treatments
  • Develop individualised recovery plans with consumers and collaborate with their support networks
  • Document assessments, interactions, and outcomes comprehensively
  • Advocate for consumers' rights and participate in clinical meetings, staff education, and quality improvement activities
Requirements
  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) including endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner or working towards same as per NMBA Guidelines on endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Post Graduate qualifications at master's level in Mental Health Nursing within an NMBA approved program of study or evidence of working towards attainment
