Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal Forensic Mental Health Clinician to join our team at the Forensic Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide culturally responsive care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, enhancing the broader Forensic Mental Health system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and foster an environment of culturally responsive care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients
  • Provide cultural consultation and guidance on patient strategies, clinical interventions, and management plans
  • Work collaboratively with Justice Health Network staff, liaising with the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations sector, and collaborating with the Forensic Hospital's Aboriginal Mental Health Clinical lead
Requirements
  • Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health - Djirruwang Graduate)
  • Registration: Full Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Evidence of Diversity claim if applicable (state which category): Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
