About the RoleThis Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A) contributes towards cutting-edge research as part of an ARC-funded Discovery Project, focused on synthesising and characterising novel organic and organometallic molecular wires with potential applications in molecular electronics.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and execute experiments to synthesise advanced materials with tailored properties.
- Characterise the products of synthesis using various analytical techniques, including spectroscopy and chromatography.
- Analyse results to gain insights into material properties and behaviour.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative solutions and strategies for material synthesis and characterisation.
- Communicate research findings through publications, presentations, and reports.
- Contribute to laboratory management, including maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in organic and organometallic chemistry, particularly in synthesis and characterisation.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques, including glovebox and Schlenk line.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
