We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at the School of Chemistry.

About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented researcher to contribute to cutting-edge research in organometallic and organic chemistry, with a focus on molecular electronics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work under the supervision of Dr. Martin Peeks and develop their skills in advanced chemical synthesis and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute experiments in organometallic and organic chemistry, with a focus on synthesizing novel molecules for electronic applications.
  • Analyze and interpret data using a range of techniques, including NMR spectroscopy and density functional theory.
  • Contribute to the development of new research projects and collaborations with industry partners.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at national and international conferences.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in inorganic or organic chemistry, with a strong background in organometallic chemistry.
  • Experience in air-free synthesis and use of glove boxes and/or Schlenk lines.
  • Familiarity with NMR spectroscopy and other analytical techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality research and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
