Job Overview

The Department of Education is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to work as a Special Needs Education Assistant in the Success Program at Hedland Senior High School.

Hedland Senior High School is an Independent Public-School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12. The school focuses on positive behaviour supports, inclusivity, and high standards of achievement.

The Role

As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will work with students to assist teachers in delivering planned education programs focused on literacy, numeracy, social emotional learning, and work readiness skills.

You will perform tasks that require judgement in achieving clearly defined outcomes determined by the teacher and Head of Learning Area. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering planned education programs
  • Contributing to the evaluation of educational outcomes

The successful applicant should possess good written and oral communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group-based programs.
