We are seeking a qualified and dedicated counsellor to join our team in providing an integrated counselling service for children and young people who have experienced abuse or problematic sexual behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to assist clients in addressing the effects of abuse and developing healthy relationships.
- Work collaboratively with clients, their families, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized case plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments and risk assessments to inform treatment planning.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community agencies and organizations to ensure effective collaboration and referrals.
- Master's degree in Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Eligibility for registration or membership with a professional body (e.g. AASW, APS).
- Experience working with children and young people who have been abused or display problematic sexual behaviour.
- Knowledge of play therapy models and ability to articulate knowledge of current practice and theories.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and advocacy skills.
- Current driver's license and willingness to travel.
