Expert Volunteer Leadership Opportunity

Carers NSW is seeking a dedicated and values-driven Board Director to help shape the future of support for carers across New South Wales.
This is an opportunity to use your expertise and leadership to influence strategy, advocate for carers, and ensure their voices are heard at the highest levels.
You will be part of a volunteer Board of Directors that oversees the activities of Carers NSW and draws on the expertise and insights of Directors to achieve its strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic planning and direction setting
- Reviewing financial planning and performance
- Participating in Board development and workshops
- Serving on Board committees and working groups
The following eligibility criteria must be met:
- Demonstrated experience in academic policy development and research within the human services and/or not-for-profit sector
- Experience in Technology/Technology Consulting at a Senior/Executive level
- A record of participation in the non-government and/or human service sectors at a leadership level or above
In addition, applicants must possess one or more of the following general skills, competencies and/or experience:
- Lived experience and/or representation of demographic groups including carers, rural/ regional residents, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, young people, or culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Leadership, vision, and ability to champion Carers NSW's vision
- Understanding of principles and practices of effective corporate governance
- Sound understanding of accounting and finance
- Experience in developing strategy and building new revenue sources
- Experience in building partnerships, both corporate and government
