About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Volunteer Coordinator.

This role plays a critical leadership part in developing, managing, and enhancing our Homecare volunteering programme. The ideal candidate will have experience in volunteer coordination or program management in healthcare, aged care, or community services.

The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing recruitment, training, and ongoing support of volunteers. They will also implement volunteer engagement strategies to improve retention and satisfaction.

In addition, they will facilitate professional development and mentoring opportunities for volunteers. They will provide expert advice to local teams on volunteer engagement and best practices.

The Volunteer Coordinator will develop and evaluate volunteer service workforce plans to enhance service delivery and impact. They will ensure volunteers receive appropriate supervision and feedback to maintain service standards.

They will coordinate biannual volunteer events such as National Volunteers Week and Christmas.

This is a permanent part-time role working 3 days per week or 4 shorter days (one day must be a Wednesday) based at Tuggerah with hybrid opportunities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong commitment to align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.

You will require demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and develop a team and effectively work with other staff.

High-level administrative, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and Database Management.

You will need to have strong conflict resolution skills and be passionate about working in aged care or health.

A strong knowledge of volunteer management principles, compliance, and risk management would be preferred, as well as experience in delivering training to volunteers.

The ideal candidate will be empathic and compassionate, with proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a diverse team of volunteers.
