Academic Guidance Lead

The University of Queensland is seeking an experienced Academic Guidance Lead to join our team at the Regional Clinical Unit. This role plays a crucial part in supporting students throughout their Doctor of Medicine program.
This position involves close collaboration with other academics to enhance the Learning Community environment, fostering inclusivity and a sense of belonging for both students and staff. The primary focus is on creating a mutually supportive environment that enables medical students to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:- Teaching: Provide specialised academic advice to students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at the Regional Clinical Unit.
- Provide high-quality academic leadership support and enhance the progression of students through each of the four years of the MD program.
- Research: Maintain personal academic standing, including pursuing research and scholarship.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Demonstrate personal effectiveness in supervision and management and development of student capability and skill.
- Citizenship and Service: Consistently demonstrate behaviours that align to the UQ values, contribute proactively and respectfully to the RCU and Learning Community.
We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated individual with experience in student support and/or clinical supervision of medical students, demonstrated skills in education at undergraduate, postgraduate level and/or professional level.
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively in the scholarship of teaching and learning, high-level communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, colleagues and relevant external partners.
What We OfferA competitive salary package includes a base salary in the range $134,845.87 - $155,246.38 + 17% Superannuation, plus a range of benefits including flexible working arrangements, paid parental leave, annual leave loading, and career progression opportunities via the academic promotions process.
LocationThis role is based at the Regional Clinical Unit, which provides an excellent opportunity to work with a talented team of academics and professionals.
