The Leader of Wellbeing is a key position within the College Leadership Team, responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in the area of student wellbeing across Years K-12.
The successful applicant will be a highly effective leader who will:
- Support the mission and ethos of the College
- Be passionate about the education of young people and the ability to motivate and inspire students
- Apply and model excellent teaching and learning skills, employing a broad range of learning strategies and learning technologies
- Employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback
- Be a leader of staff and student wellbeing who has the ability to further develop a commitment to a culture of positive learning in a safe and supportive environment
- Be an outstanding educational leader with a demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs of pastoral care to meet the wellbeing needs of students
- Have highly developed skills in strategic change management, organisational, planning and decision-making skills
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to build teacher and leader capacity
- Be an active listener with excellent presentation, communication, verbal and written skills
- Have highly skilled interpersonal relationships with students, staff, parents and external agencies
- Have middle leadership experience as a Year Coordinator, Instructional Leader of Wellbeing, or Pastoral Care Coordinator
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive wellbeing programs and policies
- Lead the Instructional Leaders of Wellbeing and work with the College Counsellor to coordinate the Wellbeing and Character Education program
- Work with teachers to develop, implement and evaluate innovative and effective Character Education and Wellbeing programs
- Develop and implement best known contemporary practices in pastoral care, management of behavioural development and welfare to enhance the overall wellbeing of students
- Work with the Deans, Instructional Leaders of Learning and Wellbeing in the transition of students into the College, as well as the transition of students across the Junior (K-4), Middle (5-8) and Senior School
- Lead the development of a culture of positive learning in a safe and supportive environment
Requirements:
- Masters in Education/Educational Leadership or similar
- 5 years minimum teaching experience
