Air Traffic Control Simulator Manager

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the Defence training system is sustainably maintained. As an Air Traffic Control Simulator Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering simulator training packages, conducting and supervising ATC training, and managing simulator resources.
Key Responsibilities- Perform duties of an Air Traffic Controller as directed;
- Conduct and supervise ATC training as directed;
- Develop and deliver simulator training packages;
- Conduct and manage ATC training administration and documents;
- Manage and operate simulator resources;
- Manage and operate stand-alone computer-based simulator resources;
- Provide operator-level maintenance to stand-alone computer-based simulator resources;
- Conduct associated secondary duties as directed.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known as the Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary, for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.
About Our TeamThis position works directly for the Training Section Commander and will manage all simulation systems within the unit. As part of the training team, this position will be responsible for a range of training and licensing duties that aim to prepare controllers for on-the-job training, ensure staff maintain appropriate levels of skills and knowledge, and develop in accordance with the controller development model.
Requirements- Current or recent prior experience in operational ATC within the tower and approach control environments;
- Knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements;
- Ability to exercise sound decision-making and judgement to provide expert policy advice;
- Security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
