The Director of Nursing role is a senior leadership position responsible for leading the strategic direction of nursing services.
This is a whole of hospital leadership role where you will work collaboratively with nurse unit managers to drive patient care outcomes, lead educational programs, develop new graduate nurses, and round with clinical staff.
You will provide support to service managers and Clinical Nurse Consultants and drive a culture of family-centred care. You'll also spend time in the community, strengthening services alongside child and family health nurses, so flexibility and willingness to travel are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic direction of nursing services
- Collaborate with nurse unit managers to improve patient care outcomes
- Develop and implement educational programs for new graduate nurses
- Round with clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Support service managers and Clinical Nurse Consultants
- Drive a culture of family-centred care
Requirements:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Authority to Practice
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and significant management experience
