Brisbane, Queensland, Australia beBeeIntegration Full time US$160,000 - US$175,000

We're revolutionizing material handling by applying robotics and distributed software to the multi-trillion dollar market.

Job Overview

The Systems Engineering Team is seeking a highly experienced engineer to lead integration and operations for prototype warehouse robotics installations.

This role combines technical expertise with operations and project management, playing a crucial part in developing a large robotics fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage internal prototype installations, ensuring they are operational, maintained, and available for hardware tests and software development.
  • Investigate system failures across the full stack, from mechanical assemblies through networking, diagnosing and reporting issues to responsible engineers.
  • Mentor field engineering teams in commissioning and operational procedures, serving as a high-level technical contact across multiple deployment sites.
  • Verify system performance under operational conditions, stress-testing hardware and software integration to identify failure modes before customer deployment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with complex electro-mechanical systems troubleshooting, preferably in autonomous systems, industrial automation, or aerospace applications.
  • Proven experience managing systems that support development teams, including maintaining uptime, scheduling work windows, and ensuring system availability for testing.
  • Detailed knowledge of multi-domain system integration, understanding dependencies between mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software subsystems.
  • Rapid diagnosis skills under pressure, with ability to systematically isolate failure modes in complex systems with minimal documentation or support.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools including oscilloscopes, multimeters, CAN bus analyzers, and Linux-based debugging utilities.
  • Experience with prototype system operations, including managing experimental hardware configurations and supporting iterative development processes.
  • Effective communication of technical findings to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders, coordinating maintenance schedules and system availability.
  • Comfortable with travel for on-site support escalations and technical consultation.
Benefits
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in ambiguous situations.
  • Ambition, openness, and constant improvement mindset.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities.
  • Adaptability and willingness to pivot when needed.
