
Aboriginal Cultural Expert

This is a critical position within our organization, and we are seeking an exceptional individual to take on the challenge of leading our practice.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and be able to demonstrate expertise in case management, risk assessment, and analysis. They will also possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and support child protection practitioners in their work.
This role requires close collaboration with Child Protection practitioners, legal practitioners, court staff, and Magistrates. The successful candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively with these stakeholders and provide expert advice and guidance when needed.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes for Koori families and children, and who is committed to working in a culturally sensitive and inclusive way.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert case advice and leadership to Child Protection practitioners
- Support and develop child protection practitioners in their work
- Collaborate with Child Protection practitioners, legal practitioners, court staff, and Magistrates to achieve positive outcomes for Koori families and children
- Conduct risk assessments and analyses to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Develop and implement effective case plans that prioritize the safety, stability, and development of children and young people
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and history
- Expertise in case management, risk assessment, and analysis
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
