Intensive Family Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Family Services and Family Violence Practitioner to provide specialist community support to communities in Alice Springs.
The primary focus of the Child and Family Wellbeing & Family Violence Services is to deliver targeted, efficient and effective community services, seeking the best possible outcomes with regard to improving the quality of life for children and communities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist families to increase their supports and connections within the community, increasing their capacity to meet the needs of their children.
- Deliver family-oriented, client-centered case management, including development and review of case plans.
- Provide education, training, advocacy, and practical support to carers and/or families needing ongoing support.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant organization staff, such as Aboriginal Legal Services, Police Services, and Child Protection Departments Workers.
- Provide appropriate advocacy for carers and children to have access to culturally appropriate support, education, resources, and services, promoting personal development and self-worth.
- Assist families in regard to underlying issues affecting general health and well-being, including educational, emotional, and developmental needs of children.
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Community Development.
- Case management experience with children and families.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
- Experience working with children and families with trauma experiences.
