About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Services Practitioner to provide specialist community support to families in Alice Springs and remote communities.

This is a full-time, 2-year contract opportunity with a generous relocation allowance and sponsorship opportunities available after the 6-month probationary period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist families to increase their supports and connections within the community, promoting their capacity to meet the needs of their children.
  • Deliver family-oriented, client-centered case management, including development and review of case plans.
  • Provide education, training, advocacy, and practical support to carers and/or families needing ongoing support.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant organization staff, including Aboriginal Legal Services, Police Services, and Child Protection Departments.
  • Advocate for carers and children to access culturally appropriate support, education, resources, and services, promoting personal development and self-worth.
  • Assist families in addressing underlying issues affecting their general health and well-being, including educational, emotional, and developmental needs of children.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Community Development.
  • Case management experience with children and families.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience working with children and families with trauma experiences.
