Job Title: Hostel Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hostel Manager to lead our hostel team in Surfers Paradise.

Our 48-bed hostel offers comfortable and relaxed accommodation, including shared dormitories and private rooms. We pride ourselves on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

As a successful candidate, you will be highly personable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to build strong relationships with people, think on your feet, and be willing to go the extra mile to ensure the success of our hostel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all functions of the hostel, including management, reception, event management, maintenance, and housekeeping
  • Responsibility for the hostel and its residents
  • Sales and marketing of the business to attract the desired demographic
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer staff
  • Coordinate rosters, staff shifts, and leave arrangements
  • Create systems and processes, prepare policies and procedures, and ensure their execution
  • Budget management and inventory control of daily hostel operations
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role in hostels, hospitality, or tourism
  • Understanding of hospitality management systems
