About the Role

Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Performance Test Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality performance testing solutions that ensure the optimal performance of our clients' applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive performance test strategies that meet project requirements and deliver valuable outcomes.
  • Design and implement performance test scenarios including load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests to ensure application performance.
  • Develop and maintain performance test scripts using LoadRunner and K6 to automate testing and improve efficiency.
  • Execute performance tests and monitor application behavior under load to identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Analyze test results to identify performance issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead testing efforts for small- to medium-sized initiatives or components of larger projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive outcomes and manage risks associated with performance issues.
  • Regularly report on testing delivery and progress to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in performance engineering or technical leadership.
  • Deep technical expertise in performance/SVT test tooling, performance engineering, component-based performance testing, and end-to-end performance testing.
  • Ability to collect non-functional requirements and develop test cases and load profiles accordingly.
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner Enterprise toolset and K6.
  • Knowledge or experience in online banking application testing is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud computing platforms such as AWS/GCP is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience in monitoring tools such as New Relic, Dynatrace, and Splunk is highly desirable.
  • Ability to troubleshoot performance-related issues.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and rolling out performance testing scripts, scenarios, and test strategy is highly desirable.
  • Working experience in developing utilities/services to facilitate the continuous PQE pipeline is desirable.
  • Good knowledge/experience in test automation, able to build, maintain, and roll out frameworks using commercial and open-source tools.
  • Experience in stubs development using Mountebank is additional skills (good to have).
  • Strong technical skills in one or more of CI/CD, SQL, middleware, AWS, GCP, and/or messaging systems.
