
Mental Health Clinical Specialist

Clinical nurse specialists play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. In this position, you will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide mental health clinical expertise, supportive advice, and clinical care to young people and their families/significant others who present with complex mental health concerns. This includes providing treatment recommendations, specialist support, and assisting with clinical decision-making and care planning for designated clients.
The Key Responsibilities:- Providing specialist triage, crisis, and clinical assessment services that support timely interventions and facilitating determined need through undertaking high-level assessments including development and implementation of care planning for designated clients.
- Supporting the reduction of Emergency Department waiting times, admissions, and early discharge to all inpatient wards or Youth Mental Health Hospital by identifying, negotiating, and initiating alternative appropriate and safe community-based supports, and where required completing 7-day follow-up arrangements.
- Promoting a positive working culture by developing effective partnerships and exceptional working relationships with all stakeholders, both within the organization and with external community service providers, and providing services that are person-centered, high-quality, sustainable, and responsive to ongoing quality improvement.
