Wine Service Specialist

This position presents an opportunity to deliver exceptional wine experiences to our guests. You will be working with a diverse selection of wines, developing your knowledge and skills in wine service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles to meet guest expectations
  • Provide expert advice on wine origins, vintages, and styles to enhance the guest experience
  • Maintain accurate records of wine stock and sales through the MICROS system
  • Pair wines with menu items to offer customized dining experiences
  • Attend wine tastings and establish strong relationships with suppliers
  • Create and update wine lists to ensure relevance and appeal
  • Design and implement promotional programs to drive wine sales
  • Monitor and maintain spill sheets for accurate inventory management

Required Skills:

  • Diploma or certification in Wine and Beverage from a reputable hospitality institution
  • Managerial certification from a nationally accredited training provider, including RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol)
  • Nationally recognized Food Safety Certification for Supervisors
  • Previous experience in a management role is preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a restaurant or food and beverage outlet is required
