Job Title: Strategic Project Director

We are seeking an experienced project director to lead the management of multiple projects from inception to closure. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

About the Role:

  • Establish project plans and budgets, and manage and forecast expenditure to achieve completion within budget
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports and attend project review meetings as required
  • Lead value engineering, buildability analysis, and assist in critically reviewing designs and documentation to minimize risk and maximize outcomes
  • Administer contracts with clients, consultants, and suppliers, ensuring they are properly executed and maintained
  • Establish and maintain anticipated cost reports, including cash flows and accruals, and ensure invoices from vendors are submitted in a timely manner to both clients and accounting
  • Review and provide recommendations on variations, collect and vet supporting documentation for submission to clients, and obtain timely client approvals
  • Implement and maintain health, safety, environment, and quality systems, and take responsibility for areas under direction
  • Mentor and coach less experienced colleagues in all aspects of project management

About You:

  • Degree in a relevant field such as construction or project management, and demonstrated experience in leading project life cycles and teams
  • Confidently manage project delivery from inception to closure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Microsoft Project, and experience in managing cost reporting systems
  • Understanding of legal environments for each project, including planning, commercial aspects, and delivery constraints
  • Able to negotiate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and authorities within established limits of authority
  • Understanding of responsibilities and accountabilities for project teams within health, safety, environment, and quality systems
  • Detailed understanding of different delivery methods and pricing models
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
