Job Title: Senior Crown Prosecutor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lawyer to join our team as a Senior Crown Prosecutor. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about criminal law and wants to make a real impact in the justice system.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Queensland criminal law and be able to manage complex trials and appeals.

The successful applicant will work closely with other legal professionals to provide expert advice and guidance on criminal matters. They will also be responsible for mentoring and training junior lawyers and providing support to victims of crime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead high-stakes prosecutions in superior court trials
  • Provide expert advice to the Director of Public Prosecutions on criminal law and evidence
  • Exercise prosecutorial discretion to initiate, modify, or discontinue serious criminal charges
  • Champion victims' rights and support them throughout the legal process
Requirements:
  • Admission as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Deep understanding of Queensland criminal law
