Senior Crown Prosecutor Opportunity

This role offers a stimulating chance for a Senior Crown Prosecutor to join the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Brisbane, Queensland.

  • Lead high-stakes prosecutions: Represent the Crown as leading counsel in superior court trials, ensuring justice is served with precision and diligence.

  • Exercise prosecutorial discretion: Independently make high-stakes decisions to initiate, modify, or discontinue serious criminal charges.
  • Champion victims' rights: Proactively address the needs of victims of crime, ensuring they are supported and heard throughout the legal process.
  • Build strong relationships: Communicate persuasively and effectively with judges, legal counsel, police, court officials, and victims on highly contentious and complex matters.
  • Develop rising talent: Inspire and mentor Crown Prosecutors, legal officers, and support staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration.
  • Innovate for the future: Drive meaningful improvements across ODPP practices to enhance the impact and efficiency of Queensland's prosecutorial services.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Admission as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia.
