About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Service Designer to join our dynamic team at HOBAN Recruitment. As an EL1 equivalent Service Designer, you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team, providing strategic and tactical oversight, and ensuring that the services we design meet the needs of participants and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Research Initiatives: Conduct research to gather insights that contribute to a better understanding of participant and stakeholder needs.
  • Conduct Qualitative and Quantitative Research: Gather and analyze data to inform service design.
  • Document and Analyze Current State Services: Identify areas for improvement in participant and staff experiences.
  • Lead and Manage Process Design Improvements: Evaluate proposed solutions at both conceptual and tactical levels.
  • Advocate for Participant and Stakeholder Voices: Ensure that the voice and experience of participants and stakeholders are represented throughout the design process.
  • Facilitate Design-Thinking Sessions: Test and refine future service experiences with service users.
  • Oversee End-to-End Service Experiences: Ensure consistency and alignment across different touchpoints.
  • Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Represent and negotiate on behalf of the organization as needed.
About You

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Proven Experience in Service Design: Develop service design artefacts and maintain complex customer journey maps.
  • Strong Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Synthesize and communicate complex information effectively.
  • Expertise in Human-Centered Design: Apply HCD principles and methodologies to drive design decisions.
  • Advanced Research Skills: Assess and manage change impacts on customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong Stakeholder Engagement Skills: Negotiate and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Experience with Design Tools: Proficiency with tools such as Creately, Miro, or Mural.
  • Prior Knowledge and Experience: Familiarity with disability, social services, or the public sector.
  • Ability to Translate Research Findings: Communicate research insights effectively.
