Physiotherapist in Neurosciences

At our esteemed healthcare institution, we are seeking an exceptional Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team in the Neurosciences stream. This is a Fixed Term, Full Time position that will cover Parental Leave until October 2026 at 80 hours/1.0 FTE per fortnight within the Physiotherapy Department.

You will work within the neurosciences stream where the areas of clinical practice include: acute respiratory, neuromuscular weakness, brain injury, epilepsy, neonatal care, neurosurgery, neurology, developmental care, neural tube defects, bone health, plagiocephaly, aquatic therapy and concussion management.

Your responsibilities as a Physiotherapist in Neurosciences will include:

  • Providing clinical care, advice and education in line with clinical guidelines and evidence relevant to the patient's conditions and clinical needs.
  • Ensuring timely provision of physiotherapy services through appropriate prioritisation of own caseload, that of junior staff, as well as patient needs.
  • Working effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to establish common goals and to develop and offer best care to children and families, ensuring that patient care is integrated and effective.
  • Identifying personal and professional development needs, and planning and implementing strategies for achieving them.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A Physiotherapy degree qualification and registration to practice as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA.
  • Experience working in an acute tertiary and/or acute paediatric environment.
  • Sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills and the ability to apply these in practice.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in areas of physiotherapy practice relevant to the clinical stream.
