Older Persons Community Mental Health Clinician

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate mental health professional to provide recovery-focused clinical services to older people with mental illnesses or moderate-severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of innovative programs and services that promote the mental health and well-being of older adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison, and review services to older people with mental illnesses or moderate-severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to support individuals and their families
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care and support
  • Contribute to the development of innovative programs and services that promote the mental health and well-being of older adults
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as nursing, occupational therapy, psychology, social work, or counselling
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for membership in relevant professional associations
  • Demonstrated experience in contemporary older persons mental health practice, including conducting mental health assessments and providing evidence-based interventions
  • A strong understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007) and the principles of mental health rehabilitation and recovery
