You will oversee the Academic department by leading from the front and implementing course programs as planned. You are accountable for academic management, quality assurance, training, and development of the academic team.

Your Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

">
  • Providing strategic leadership and direction for the entire Academic Department
  • Leading by example – passionate about teaching and ready to teach when required
  • Setting the vision and objectives for the Academic department – responsible for academic planning, ensuring those objectives are met, and supporting staff in meeting their objectives
  • Develop new academic content & lead professional development sessions for the teacher team
  • Manage the Line Leadership of the Academic team including Senior Teachers, Contract Teachers, timesheet teaching staff and interns
  • Timetabling of students, teachers, courses, and classrooms to meet student needs and expectations
  • Maintain effective communication with international Sales Offices globally
  • Ensure that the academic team complies with all aspects of school accreditation and policies
  • Oversee the academic budget for training and materials
  • Contribute towards whole school goals and targets for KPIs and student satisfaction rates
  • Responsible for quality assurance of all academic matters including recruitment, curriculum evaluation and overall student satisfaction
  • Liaise with the wider school team for student events, connecting the academics team to the wider school community

Qualifications and Competencies:

">
  • Master's degree in English, Linguistics, Education or related field, or DELTA certification is an asset
  • Teaching experience with English as a foreign language to international students is essential
  • Academic management experience is preferred
  • Experience teaching English at an international language school
  • Highly organized, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure to deadlines
  • Highly motivated, energetic, positive attitude
  • Flexible approach to work and hours undertaken is essential
  • Friendly and approachable manner, sensitive to international student needs
  • Ability to work independently
