Primary Academic Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled academic leader to join our team as an Associate Dean (Primary). This is an exciting opportunity to provide strategic and operational leadership for a large team of experienced academics teaching primary undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

About the Role

  • Lead academic performance, culture, and student progress in the Primary program by developing and implementing innovative strategies
  • Enhance teaching and the overall student experience through effective curriculum design and delivery
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with external regulatory requirements for teacher education
  • Mentor Course Coordinators in building coherent student course experiences and supporting their professional growth
  • Contribute to the School's strategic direction, governance, and commitment to continuous improvement by providing expert advice and guidance
  • Foster opportunities for teaching, learning, and research activities, and cross-discipline collaborations that promote excellence and innovation
  • Develop and implement effective financial management practices within the discipline
  • Cultivate direct reports' potential by coaching and developing them aligned with Academic Scholar roles and Workload Models

About You

  • You are an accomplished academic leader with a PhD in a relevant Education discipline and an excellent scholarly record in teaching and research in Education
  • Capacity to lead change through effective collaboration and consultation, leveraging your expertise to drive positive outcomes
  • SUCCESS IN MENTORING AND COACHING STAFF TO ACHIEVE GOALS ALIGNED WITH INDIVIDUALS CAREER PROGRESSION AND SCHOOL PRIORITIES
  • Capacity to develop, operationalise and review teaching and learning programs that align with industry needs and standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the external regulatory environment for Initial Teacher Education and legislative requirements for teacher education and accreditation
  • In-depth understanding of best practices in leading values-based culture and positive behaviours
  • Strong capability in building strategic networks and collaborative relationships that drive success and growth
