
Compliance Risk Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Compliance Risk Specialist to join our team. This role is a key part of the Group Risk function and acts as the primary point of contact for all BAU financial crime compliance matters.
About the Role- This position requires an in-depth understanding of AML/CTF, FATCA/CRS, and internal FCC policies to provide independent review, advice, and challenge on BAU matters.
- You will support Retail, Business Bank, and Treasury teams with Product and Channel Risk Assessments (PCRAs), Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessments (EWRA), and Product Risk Reviews (PRRs).
- Your responsibilities will include assessing issues and incidents for materiality and reporting significant matters to AUSTRAC.
- You will contribute to insightful reporting on FCC risk profiles, incidents, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.
- You must be able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the business.
- Collaboration with other areas of Compliance is essential to support the design and implementation of frameworks, policies, and processes.
- Championing Compliance's Purpose and Ways of Working across the organisation is crucial.
- Staying informed on regulatory developments and proactively advising on implications for the business is vital.
To succeed in this role, you must have a strong foundation in financial crime obligations, including AUSTRAC regulation and the AML/CTF Act. You should bring a deep understanding of banking operations across retail, business, and treasury, and have a knack for simplifying complex regulatory matters.
You must thrive in ambiguity, be comfortable making independent decisions, and be passionate about continuous improvement and optimising processes. Your ability to engage and influence stakeholders, deliver high-quality work, and identify areas needing deeper analysis makes you a trusted advisor in a transforming and fast-paced environment.
