About the Role

The Cancer Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our team in Wagga Wagga. As a key member of our Marketing and Fundraising Division, you will play a critical role in engaging communities, building relationships, and delivering fundraising events to achieve sustainable community fundraising outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Community Engagement: Identify, build, and maintain relationships with supporters and key community stakeholders to effectively deliver community fundraising initiatives.
  2. Event Management: Manage and deliver community fundraising events, including budgeting, planning, and delivery.
  3. Operational Planning: Support the development of and locally execute operational plans to optimize community fundraising and supporter experience.
  4. Insight Analysis: Monitor local supporter and community fundraising insights to ensure effective and efficient response to challenges and opportunities.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management: Adhere to licensing requirements, risk assessment, and financial procedures, issues management policy, and other organizational policies and procedures.
  6. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with local team and key internal stakeholders to integrate the impact of Cancer Council programs and services into fundraising initiatives.
  7. Volunteer Management: Recruit, coach, and manage volunteers to support Cancer Council in the delivery of community fundraising initiatives.
  8. Volunteer Engagement: Inspire volunteers through recognition and learning and development opportunities.
  9. Community Storytelling: Identify opportunities to respectfully capture and tell stories of Cancer Council impact in local communities.
  10. Operational Support: Perform specific operational tasks related to facilities management, fleet management, Work Health & Safety, and/or risk & compliance as requested from time to time by the Finance, Strategy & Operations, and People & Communications Division.
About You
  1. Fundraising Experience: Demonstrated fundraising experience or experience raising revenue.
  2. Relationship Management: A sound understanding of relationship management and community engagement.
  3. Event Management: Experience in event management.
  4. Customer Service: Ability to provide high-level customer service experience.
  5. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  6. Organizational Skills: Well-developed organization and project management skills.
  7. Financial Acumen: Financial acumen and ability to manage community fundraising campaign budgets.
  8. Volunteer Management: Experience in working effectively with volunteers, committees, and/or community groups.
  9. Adaptability: Ability to work calmly under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and manage competing priorities across multiple teams.
  10. Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team as well as undertake self-directed work.
  11. Computer Literacy: High-level computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
  12. Travel and Flexibility: Availability for and willingness to travel in and work with all communities across NSW. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  13. Driver's License: Class C driver's license.
  14. Public Profile: Experience in developing the public profile of community-based fundraising initiatives.
  15. Charitable Sector: Understanding of, and commitment to, the charitable sector.
  16. Priority Populations: Demonstrated understanding of working with priority populations.
