About the Role:

This exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Corporate Counsel to support FIS' financial technology business in the APAC region. As a key member of the regional executive team, you will be at the forefront of continued expansion, operating from our offices in Sydney, Australia.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of corporate and commercial contract issues, with a minimum of 4 years' experience in a high-quality law firm or in-house environment. Strong analytical and advisory skills are essential, including the ability to review and evaluate multi-faceted issues and counsel business colleagues on complex legal questions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, prepare and negotiate information and technology services contracts, software licenses, and other outsourcing and information services agreements.
  • Perform legal research and analysis on commercial contract and information technology law issues, as well as software licensing, payment processing and payment services, including data security and privacy, technology development, and commercial services.
  • Advise business colleagues on areas that include software licensing, data security, privacy and regulatory matters, and commercial contract disputes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law from a leading university.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a high-quality law firm or in-house environment.
  • Strong professional ethics with a commitment to excellence.
  • Knowledge of and experience with principles involved in drafting information and technology services agreements, software license agreements, and general commercial contracts.
