About the Role

The Lead Visual Effects Technical Director is a hands-on leader responsible for guiding a team of effects artists. This role collaborates closely with supervisors to ensure delivered shots meet rigorous standards and support the creative vision.

  • Designs and creates complex visual effects, including FX animation, simulation, and compositing.
  • Lights and renders FX elements and produces composites to showcase ideas.
Key Responsibilities
  • Sets the standard for quality, efficiency, and speed of the team's output.
  • Provides constructive feedback and oversight on shot and sequence level.
  • Partners with other discipline leadership to determine cross-department solutions and improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Graphics or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in Houdini software and knowledge of Python or Vex.
  • 10+ years of production experience, including leadership roles in film visual effects.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Unix.
