Visual Effects Compositor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Compositor to fill a key role in our visual effects team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for combining live-action and computer graphic elements into seamless visual effects shots, working closely with VFX Supervisors and 2D Supervisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Extracting blue and green screen elements
  • Integrating complex computer-generated imagery
  • Participating in client reviews and daily sessions
  • Developing creative approaches to problem-solving while adhering to production methodologies
  • Performing all aspects of composite FX design

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the VFX industry as a compositor on high-end live-action feature films
  • Proficiency in using Nuke
  • A knowledge and interest in photography and practical lighting
  • Showreel demonstrating a wide range of high-end work including plate-based compositing, set extensions, full CG shots, and FX and CG integration, all finished to a high standard
  • A good eye for colour, composition, and technical shot finishing, with the ability to manage complex work across multiple senior-level shots

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience as a Roto and Prep Artist
  • Deep compositing expertise
  • Look development experience
  • Experience mentoring junior artists
