About the Role
The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Strategic Alliance Sustainment Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting the delivery of Defence capability to our international partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and implement a strategy for facilitating maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade of allied partner assets in the region.
- Work closely with key Defence and external stakeholders to identify best-practice solutions for addressing partner requirements.
- Leverage extant and latent Australian proficiency and capacity to deliver systemic, repeatable, and sustainable sustainment support outcomes.
- Engage with senior managers and foreign Government officials to build strong relationships and advance Defence capability delivery.
- Develop and implement workforce management initiatives that drive business outcomes and support the delivery of Defence capability.
About Our Team
The International Engagement and Foreign Military Sales Branch supports effective and efficient capability delivery in collaboration with Australia's international acquisition and sustainment partners. Our team consists of three Directorates – International Engagement, Foreign Sourcing, and Alliance Sustainment Support.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional who possesses strong leadership credentials, strategic thinking, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a track record of achieving results and be able to demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of Defence capability delivery, in particular Defence asset management and the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade of sensitive equipment.
- Strong management skills, with the ability to advance multiple portfolios simultaneously.
- Ability to undertake representational roles on behalf of CASG and Defence.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and interpret policy and applicable legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement workforce management and initiatives that drive business outcomes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills at the strategic level.
