Job Summary

The International Engagement and Foreign Military Sales Branch supports effective and efficient capability delivery in collaboration with Australia's International acquisition and sustainment partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Australia's cooperation with international acquisition and sustainment partners.
  • Optimise the FMS process flow across the capability lifecycle.
  • Professionalise the foreign sourcing capability across all delivery groups and introduce mechanisms for process continuous improvement.
  • Establish mechanisms for delivery of AUKUS Pillar 2 initiatives, and support the implementation of export-licence-free arrangements.
  • Support Alliance Sustainment mechanisms, including by developing solutions for maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrade of allied assets in Australia.

About the Team

The International Engagement and Foreign Military Sales Branch supports effective and efficient capability delivery in collaboration with Australia's International acquisition and sustainment partners. The team consists of three Directorates – International Engagement, Foreign Sourcing and Alliance Sustainment Support.

What You'll Need

  • An ability to respond appropriately to dynamic and evolving tasking requirements;
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders to manage workloads, timeframes, expectations and escalated enquiries;
  • Strong administration and time management skills, with an ability to manage competing priorities and with the ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines;
  • Sound stakeholder engagement and relationship management;
  • Strong oral communication skills, attention to detail and a can do attitude;
  • Understand Defence's contribution to Australia's national security interests and apply that understanding in a Whole of Government and international environment;
  • Assist to manage administrative arrangements of divisional representation at senior departmental or interdepartmental committees and international meetings; and
  • Proactively progress tasks relating to the delivery of programs, projects and activities relevant to policy priorities, and/or international engagement activities.
