About the Opportunity

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join the International Engagement and Foreign Military Sales Branch. This exciting opportunity will see you play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of a strategy for facilitating maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade of allied partner assets in the region.

As a key member of the Alliance Sustainment Support Directorate, you will work closely with Defence and external stakeholders to identify best-practice solutions for addressing partner requirements, leveraging Australian proficiency and capacity whilst preserving sovereign support capability. This will involve regular and sensitive engagement with senior managers and foreign Government officials, requiring strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

About the Team

The International Engagement and Foreign Military Sales Branch supports effective and efficient capability delivery in collaboration with Australia's International acquisition and sustainment partners. Our main responsibilities include building Australia's cooperation with international acquisition and sustainment partners, optimising the FMS process flow across the capability lifecycle, and establishing mechanisms for delivery of AUKUS Pillar 2 initiatives. We are a diverse and high-achieving team that works across a varied and interesting range of tasks, supporting the provision of advice to government and senior officers across delivery groups.

Key Responsibilities

* Work effectively in a dynamic team environment to establish and implement a strategy for facilitating maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade of allied partner assets in the region

* Engage with Defence and external stakeholders to identify best-practice solutions for addressing partner requirements

* Utilise Australian proficiency and capacity whilst preserving sovereign support capability

* Develop and implement solutions for maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade of allied assets in Australia

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve business outcomes

* Provide advice to government and senior officers across delivery groups

* Engage with senior managers and foreign Government officials

Requirements

* Strong understanding of Defence capability delivery, in particular Defence asset management and the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade of sensitive equipment

* Strong management skills, with the ability to advance multiple portfolios simultaneously

* Ability to undertake representational roles on behalf of CASG and Defence

* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

* Demonstrated ability to read, write, and interpret policy and applicable legislation

* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement workforce management and initiatives that drive business outcomes

* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills at the strategic level
