Victim Support Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Victim Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to victims of crime, empowering them to navigate the justice system and achieve their goals.

Our Victim Assistance Program is committed to providing consumer-focused case management services, promoting recovery and minimizing secondary victimization. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with consumers, building trust and confidence through excellent practice skills.

You will be responsible for responding directly to victim survivors, building capacity across the Victims Assistance Program, and engaging in community outreach and education activities. Your expertise will enable you to provide consultation and support to VAP team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor qualifications in Social Work, Social Welfare or relevant equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within the community sector, preferably in a trauma-related field
  • Case management, intake, and assessment experience, with a focus on Family Violence
  • Risk identification and management capability, including experience with the MARAM framework
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
