Forensic Accounting Specialist

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled forensic accounting specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engagement team, you will play a vital role in conducting forensic investigations, business valuations and providing expert witness services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and assist with forensic accounting investigations including transaction tracing, fraud and misappropriation, false accounting and financial discrepancies.
  • Prepare and assist with business valuations using various valuation techniques and approaches.
  • Assist with the preparation of expert witness reports and other deliverables in legal proceedings.
  • Conduct industry, market and company research using a range of tools and data sources.
  • Lead and mentor junior forensic accountants and support staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as accountancy, commerce, economics or finance.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or other relevant technical designation.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in forensic accounting, financial investigations or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A team player with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in core software tools particularly Excel.
Desirable Attributes
  • Experience preparing expert witness reports.
  • Familiarity with Australian Courts and legal process.
  • Other relevant skills: foreign languages, data analytics, programming, economics/statistics.
