Senior Defence Industry Business Development Manager

Siemens Industry Software Pty Ltd is a leading provider of innovative solutions for product design, simulation, and manufacturing across various industries. Our software has been used in the conception and manufacture of products such as Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, and space exploration vehicles.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Defence Industry Business Development Manager to grow our Siemens PLM Software business in Australia's Defence industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for handling consultative and value-added software sales engagements with Defence industry customers through productive business relationships. You will lead the formation and execution of customer sales strategies to drive the sale of software, contributing to the development and execution of financially quantified value propositions, business cases, and solution visions specific to customers or prospects.
The successful candidate will be part of our Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Sales team, offering excellent career growth opportunities with Siemens.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for Defence industry customers
- Analyse customer markets, strategy, position, and needs to identify business opportunities
- Investigate and evaluate specific business opportunities for customer-related product and service portfolios
- Maintain a customer-focused network to develop both customer and industry sector expertise
- Prepare and negotiate projects, proposals, and contracts with customers
- Coordinate the realization of assignments and contribute to setting up respective product developments, projects, or services programs for customers
- Act as a point of contact in commercial matters and complete sales and revenue-related key reporting
- Contribute to the development of a customer-needs-focused After-Sales Service
Requirements:
- Australian citizenship and based in Australia
- Graduate in Mechanical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of software sales experience with a validated track record of sales in Defence industry customers
- Experience in selling PLM software, vendor, or reseller market experience capacity with subscription business models is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex software selling environments and achieve targets
- Good business insight for handling forecasts and targets
- Good working knowledge in selling Enterprise Software and leading accounts around the ANZ region
- Attention to detail, thoroughness, dynamism, and excellent leadership and high level of accountability
- Proven self-starter/motivated and ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Negotiation and objection & conflicts handling skills
- IT savvy and ability to multitask
