Senior Corporate Finance Specialist

This is a key position within the Financial and Business Services Directorate at James Cook University, requiring an experienced Financial Accountant to maintain financial integrity and compliance through professional and strategic financial management services.
Main Responsibilities:- Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing statutory accounts for external funding agencies.
- Coordinating auditing activities and managing complex accounting queries.
- Providing expert advice on legislation and standards to ensure financial success and integrity.
To succeed in this role, applicants must possess:
- A postgraduate qualification in finance, accounting or commerce.
- Current membership with a professional accounting body (e.g. Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant).
- Proven experience in financial accounting and a detailed understanding of Australian accounting standards.
- High-level analytical skills, attention to detail and exceptional organisational abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills to present complex information clearly and professionally.
