Job Opportunity: Clinical Coder

This is a temporary full-time position for a Clinical Coder within the local health district. The successful applicant will provide relief to ensure clinical coding key performance indicators and deadlines are met at all facilities.

The role provides the opportunity to travel across different facilities of the local health district. A recognised clinical coding qualification with a minimum 12 months continuous coding experience across a broad range of clinical specialties is required. Applicants must have demonstrated ability to assist with quality improvement activities in relation to coded data, using recognised continuous quality improvement principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with quality improvement activities in relation to coded data
  • Use computerised patient administrative systems
  • Resolve clinical coding queries utilising sound judgement and initiative
  • Organise and prioritise own workload to ensure deadlines and KPIs are met

Requirements:

  • Current drivers licence
  • Availability to travel to facilities within the local health district
