Expert Legal Advisor

The University is seeking an experienced legal professional to join its Corporate Services Division as a Senior Legal Advisor.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Australian commercial and administrative law, including regulatory frameworks and evolving government policy. They will also possess demonstrated experience in complex organisations, ideally within higher education.
The role requires delivering timely, practical advice on complex matters, managing multiple projects and priorities, and providing expert legal services across the University.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver timely, effective legal advice on complex matters.
- Manage multiple legal projects and priorities, ensuring seamless execution and successful outcomes.
- Provide expert legal services across the University, including advice on contracts, compliance, property matters, litigation, and broader regulatory obligations.
- Admitted as a Solicitor in Australia, with at least five years' post-admission experience.
- Current Practising Certificate in Queensland Law Society or eligibility to obtain one.
- Strong knowledge of Australian commercial and administrative law, including regulatory frameworks and evolving government policy.
- Demonstrated experience in complex organisations, ideally within higher education.
- 17% superannuation scheme.
- 6 weeks annual leave, including Christmas and New Year closure.
- 10 days personal/sick leave, plus 5 days carer's leave.
- 7.25 hours engaged service leave.
